The Houston Texans made a much better showing than many people expected, but was still on the short end of the stick as the Jacksonville Jaguars got a field goal in overtime to put another loss on the Texans who now stand at 0-3. The Texans though have nothing to hang their heads about. In fact they played the kind of football that will win you games down the road. If we would have won the coin toss we probably would have won, but that is how it works sometimes.
You have to give Jacksonville and quarterback David Garrard credit as [...]

Texans-Jaguars Preview
The Houston Texans have a very tall order this week when they travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. First of all the Texans are trying to avoid an 0-3 start as the odds of them making the playoffs with that kind of start is not very good. The first order of business for the Texans will be to stop the Jaguars rushing attack of Fred Taylor and Maurice Drew Jones. This tandem has produced some very impressive numbers and last week in Indy they showed everyone how well they can run the ball as they amassed over 200 [...]
Texans News And Notes
It looks like Ahmed Green may not be able to go this week as he is listed as doubtful. The Texans offense is ranked 28th and most of that is because of red zone offense. If the Texans want to get their first win they will have to improve in that area if they want any chance of getting it at Jacksonville. In practice this week the Texans have been working on it so I guess we will see if practice makes perfect. The funny part the last few years the Texans have really not been that bad in red zone [...]
If the Houston Texans want to turn around their season than it looks like the defensive unit will half to be the ones that do it. So far this season the Houston Texan offense has been nowhere to be found. If someone knows where it is at please send it to Jacksonville this week as they will need it. Mario Williams and DeMeco Ryans will need to have big games if they hope to keep the Texans in the ball game.
Playing Jacksonville you alwayas know it is going to be a physical game and the Texans defense needs to be [...]
Like playing Texas hold’em
The Houston Texans have a young team that works in mysterious ways. A look at the numbers in 2007 shows that somehow the team won eight games despite having a porous defense. The team simply has weapons that come in handy. Watching the Texans win is like watching a bar fight. It is confusing, no not nearly as glamorous as the fights in the movies, and end in the most unpredictable ways.
Matt Schaub has his moments under center. He weapons in Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter and occasionally the coaching staff looks [...]
