Thursday turned out to be a busy day for Houston Texans news as Jimmy Garoppolo ended up back on the trade block.
While it makes sense for the Texans to trade for Garoppolo, it would be a surprise if they meet the Patriots’ demands.
With the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine in full swing, Texans head coach Bill O’Brien and general manager Rick Smith met with the media over the past few days.
One of the most entertaining things that Smith said was that they had enough money under the cap to do whatever the want.
Yeah OK. Like re-sign A.J. Bouye?
Good luck with that.
The Texans met with Florida State running back Dalvin Cook. Wouldn’t he be a nasty one-two punch with Lamar Miller?
No surprise at all here, but the Texans also met with offensive tackles Garrett Bolles (Utah) and Ryan Ramczyk (Wisconsin).

It also sounds like we will soon find out where Tony Romo will play in 2017. He’s expected to be released within the next two weeks and sign a contract with a new team fairly quickly.
Below are some really interesting articles that I picked out from around the web that have to do with the Houston Texans.
Enjoy and Happy Friday!
2017 NFL Free Agency: 5 Offensive Linemen For Houston Texans to Consider [NFL Spin Zone – Luke Sims]
"With offensive tackle Derek Newton still recovering after his horrific knee injury last season, the Houston Texans are going to be in the offensive line market for, at minimum, one position in 2017. Tack on the fact that Duane Brown already has nine seasons under his belt at left tackle and the Texans are looking another possible addition."
The Film Room (2017 NFL Draft): Malik Hooker Scouting Report [Battle Red Blog – Brett Kollman]
"With the NFL still trending more and more towards fast, aggressive Cover-3 defenses that prioritize athleticism and range over everything else, there is perhaps no better time for Ohio State safety Malik Hooker to enter the pro football scene. Blessed with an incredible blend of straight line speed, fluid hips, and ball skills from his background as a basketball player, Hooker’s unique physical skillset makes him the ideal free safety prospect for the modern NFL."

2017 NFL Draft: Will Houston Texans Pick Quarterback in First Round? [NFL Spin Zone – Luke Sims]
"To say the Houston Texans are between a rock and a hard place at quarterback would be an understatement. With Brock Osweiler costing the team millions as the most overpriced quarterback in the NFL, the Texans are still searching for a franchise quarterback. The outside predictions are in favor of a deal with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, but only if he is released. The Texans cannot afford to deal away valuable draft capital for a quarterback that only has a few good years left in front of him."
Whitney Mercilus Is “The Foodie” [Battle Red Blog – Capt Ron]
"If you have ever experienced any tailgating event, you know that food and football have always gone well together. The fans who orchestrate this great tradition around the Houston Texans home games at NRG Stadium have been recognized for creating one of the best tailgating environments in the NFL."
