The Houston Texans could land a steal with K.J. Wright.

The preseason has officially begun, and K.J. Wright still hasn’t been signed yet? This is one of the more confusing ones by now, as a player of his talent could transform a defense. Recently, Wright flew to Las Vegas to meet the Raiders about possibly signing with the team. His former defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is on the staff in Las Vegas. Wright left without a contract.

It’s no secret that by now Wright is looking for a big contract. While that wouldn’t really be able to done until the 2023 season, it can’t hurt to pursue the 1-time Pro Bowler who anchored Seattle’s 2nd level of the defense for so long.

While Whitney Mercilus, Zach Cunningham, and Christian Kirksey are the current starters, perhaps a rotational kind of role could be created. Maybe even shift to a 3-4 and have all four of them on the field. It’s fun to dream, and the Texans should try to sign Wright before another team offers the bank to him.
