1. Going from 0-3 to first place in the AFC South

When the Houston Texans were 0-3 to start the season with three close losses, it seemed that one more loss to that streak would have all but ended the season as not many teams start the year 0-4 and reach the playoffs.

That fourth straight loss never happened, but instead the Texans started winning and have yet to gain that fourth loss of the season. No, instead, in a very surprising turn of events, the Texans have won six straight games and seen their fortunes turn to success as they are in the top spot of the AFC South standings.

After the three consecutive losses, the Texans are now 6-3 overall and leading the Tennessee Titans, who enter Week 10 at 4-4 overall, followed by the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars at 3-5 each.

Seeing the Texans in first place is the biggest surprise of all this season, and that feat hasn’t come easy as many were wanting head coach Bill O’Brien gone after those first three losses. Since then, at least for the time being, the Texans head coach seems to be safe from the hot seat, but that is a whole other topic.
