Ever since being picked out of Virginia Tech with the 26th overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft, the former Hokie has been one of the best blind side protectors in the entire league. He has only missed eight games in eight seasons, and has earned four straight Pro Bowl berths. In 2009 he guarded the blind side of Matt Schaub, who led the league with 4,770 passing yards and set franchise records for points and yards. After struggling in 2010, allowing 6.5 sacks, in 2011 he didn’t allow any sacks and had his second straight season of no holding penalties. He was a second team All-Pro that season and then in 2012 became a first team All-Pro.
