Top Five Draft Picks in Texans History

4. DeMeco Ryans
Ryans was a great player during his time in Houston. From the start of his career, he made his presence known. Taken with the first pick of the second round (33rd overall) out of Alabama in 2006, he finished second in the league in tackles as a rookie with 155; trailing only Zach Thomas. He was a team captain as a rookie and was named to the Pro Bowl in his second year with 128 tackles and tied his career high with three fumbles recovered. After being named DROY as a rookie, he was named a first team All-Pro in his second season. He also made the Pro Bowl in 2009 and named the Ed Block Courage Award winner in 2011. Unfortunately an injury limited him to just six games in 2010, and wasn’t the same after that. He had only 64 tackles in 16 games in 2011 before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles prior to the 2012 season.
