The Houston Texans could potentially be in the trade market with more teams interested in Brandin Cooks.
In what could seemingly be the final big wide receiver trade this offseason, the Houston Texans have reportedly received interest from six teams. So naturally, they’re calling to inquire about the chances of Brandin Cooks joining his newest team.
According to Jordan Schultz, three teams have inquired about Cooks. Per Schultz, this is the list:
- Green Bay Packers
- Dallas Cowboys
- New York Jets
- Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders
The Rams and Raiders are no longer in the running due to each team acquiring their own star wide receiver (Allen Robinson and Davante Adams, respectively).
Houston Texans should trade Brandin Cooks to the best suitor
No matter where Cooks gets traded, he’s going to succeed. Cooks has proven to be one of the best wide receivers in the game, and the potential landing spots have been ranked for him already.
Let another team show him the big bucks and suit up for a championship run. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to give such a big contract to a player that would be wasting away on a rebuilding team.
That would starve Davis Mills for his best weapon, but if he’s going to be the franchise guy, then Mills will elevate whoever he has to throw to in order to get the job done.
Houston would then need to use a high pick on a wide receiver in the draft, but that’s the least of their worries. Get the max compensation for him, and let’s move on.
