Deshaun Watson didn’t play, but he still needs to go
Yes, Watson didn’t and hasn’t played at all this season due to the serious nature of the allegations against him. However, keeping him around isn’t helping. It’s been covered and written about here on Toro Times over and over again.
The rebuild still doesn’t start until Watson is out the door. The negative energy and cloud surrounding the franchise won’t go away until he is gone. Earlier this year, the cap impacts of cutting or releasing Watson will exponentially help the Texans going forward.
A big free-agent class will be needed to change Houston’s fortunes as we advance, especially with the Texans’ choosing their first-round draft selection on Davis Mills’ success this season. The more weapons and protection he has, the better.
