The Houston Texans and new general manager Nick Caserio have their work cut out for them as they enter a period of uncertainty. The big storyline out of Houston is clearly the murky future of superstar quarterback Deshaun Watson, but with negative cap space heading into the offseason, many more moves are going to have to be made.
In fact, with as little draft assets as the Texans have, they may just have to trade some of their bigger named players outside of Watson as well. The roster is in no shape to compete for an AFC South title anywhere in the near future, so the Texans may just need to stockpile draft picks for the future. A trade of Watson will certainly help recoup assets that former head coach Bill O’Brien shipped off, but more will be needed.
This could mean a firesale is about to take place once the new league year gets underway.

Could the Texans hold firesale?
Much to the chagrin of the fans in Houston, Caserio looks likely to tear down the roster, especially if they ship out their franchise quarterback. Teams without cap space usually have a competitive roster, just like the New Orleans Saints sit in the red by nearly $100 million. However, with negative space and a significantly underachieving roster, the Texans have the ingredients of a team looking to press the big red button this offseason.
With a firesale on the horizon, here are five players on the roster not named Watson who could also be shipped out of Houston.
