Houston Texans 53-man roster predictions post-2020 NFL Draft
Special Teams (3)
Bryan Anger (P), Ka’imi Fairbairn (K), Jon Weeks (LS)
The unsung players on the Houston Texans roster are the specialists who are difference makers for the team, as Jon Weeks is one of, if not the very best long snappers in the entire NFL, and that is a luxury the Texans should be pleased to have.
In his one season with the Texans, Anger made 45 punts that totaled 2,094 yards, with a long punt of 71 yards. He averaged 46.5 yards per punt in 2019, and Anger had 24 punts land inside the 20-yard line.
At kicker is Fairbairn. The Texans kicker was 20-of-25 on field goal attempts in ’19, and 40-of-45 in PATs, as the PATs attempted put him fifth in the league, and in PATs made, he tied for seventh in the NFL.
As the offseason continues, this 53-man roster prediction will change as the Texans will be making changes, too. The Texans are strong at some positions, weaker at other spots in the roster and have a long road ahead of them in 2020.
The roster work isn’t finished yet by Bill O’Brien, and the Texans news from here until the start of the ’20 season will be all about who makes and doesn’t earn a roster spot with the Texans.
