Deshaun Watson is the best quarterback on the Houston Texans’ roster.
This week John McClain of the Houston Chronicle told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that there isn’t a competition between Deshaun Watson and Tom Savage for the Houston Texans’ starting quarterback job.
McClain claims that Savage will definitely start week one unless he gets injured or bombs on the field.
Dan Graziano of ESPN wrote on Wednesday that he believes Watson will most likely be the Texans’ week one starter.
"Watson. Why not? “He’ll win over that building in no time,” one person who has worked with Watson said. “The coaching staff is going to look for ways for him to win the job.” The Texans can put a playoff-caliber team around Watson and ease him into NFL life without asking him to carry them. Think Mark Sanchez as a Jets rookie who made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game with a team that led the league in defense and rushing. That’s the dream. Plus two more wins, and then a career."
I totally agree with Graziano’s thinking, even though I’d hate to compare Watson to Mark Sanchez. But I get his point.

I have a very hard time believing that with the talent on the Texans’ roster, that Watson wouldn’t be able to help them get back to the playoffs.
Watson is ultimately a more talented player than Savage, which is why he will start as a rookie. Whether it’s week one or week six, it will happen.
