An offensive tackle like Cam Robinson would be an ideal pick for the Houston Texans.

ESPN NFL Draft insider Mel Kiper Jr. has the Houston Texans using the 25th overall pick on Alabama left tackle Cam Robinson in his latest mock draft.

ESPN Texans reporter Sarah Barshop has given her thoughts on Kiper’s latest pick for the Texans.

"Robinson has had success as a run-blocker and would bring some consistency to an offensive line blocking for starting running back Lamar Miller.Although the Texans also need a quarterback given the struggles Brock Osweiler had last season, Kiper has just two quarterbacks going in the first round: North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky at No. 2 and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson at No. 10 — well before Houston picks."

Robinson is Daniel Jeremiah’s 40th ranked NFL prospect.  Here’s what he thinks about the Alabama star:

"Robinson has ideal height, bulk and length for the position. In pass protection, he is effective when he’s patient in his set and stays square. However, there are too many instances where he lunges, loses his balance and gets beat. He has the power base to anchor vs. bull rushers and he flashes an outstanding punch. In the run game, he can generate a lot of movement at the point of attack, but he gets away with a lot of holding in the tapes I studied. Overall, Robinson could be a dominating run blocker early in his career but he needs to clean up some technique in the passing game."

If the Texans aren’t able to get quarterbacks DeShaun Watson or Deshone Kizer in the first round, taking an offensive tackle would make the most sense.
