Tony Romo would make Texans immediate Super Bowl contenders.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter was a guest on SportsDayDFW’s Evan Grant, Barry Horn and Kevin Sherrington on “Ballzy” podcast and he was asked which NFL is the best fit for Tony Romo.

"The best fit would be a winning organization that can protect him with an offensive line and has a chance to be competitive.Denver’s got questions about its offensive line. I think Houston’s got some questions. I think Houston would probably be the best fit to me. Especially on offense."

Schefter does believe Brock Osweiler’s contract creates a problem for the Texans.

"The problem is that’s definitely sitting there and there’s a guarantee of $16 million [for him] this season so have to find a way to get around that. I think that’s a problem with any quarterback they pursue which is why they’d probably like to draft a quarterback. I don’t think that diminishes their interest in Tony Romo, I think there’s a way to just set up the contract to where if he gets somewhere he’d like to be dealt with, they’d like to get done and get paid."

While Osweiler’s contract won’t make things easy, Romo isn’t going to get a big-time contract from any team with the concerns over his health.

I can see Romo getting a contract that will pay him $8-10 million a year. That’s certainly affordable for the Texans.
