Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is set to host the CMT Awards in June alongside Erin Andrews
Defensive end J.J. Watt has already put together quite an impressive career at just 27-years of age. Since being selected by the Houston Texans 11th overall in 2011, Watt has become a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and is the only player in NFL history to ever record 20 or more sacks in a single season twice.
Off the field he has been nearly as successful as he can be seen popping up in commercials for American Family Insurance, Papa John’s and Verizon. Lately, he even got his own logo which was put together as part of his new Reebok campaign.
And now, the popular NFL star can add something else to his resume as he will co-host the CMT Music Awards with Erin Andrews on June 8th.
Andrews hosted the show last season, and also has hosted “Dancing with the Stars.” The sports reporter says she is excited to now be working with Watt this year.
"“I had so much fun last year, and I can’t wait to see what antics J.J. and I will get into together,” Andrew said per Tania Ganguli of ESPN"
As for J.J. this won;t be the first time he is up close and personal with members of the country music world. In 2015, Watt introduced the Zac Brown Band before they took the stage for their CMT performance. He also later appeared in a Bose add alongside Zac Brown in an add where the singer gets to yell at Watt and then smash a guitar against his locker.

Watt is one of the most recognizable and likable stars in the NFL today. He is also doing a great job of making sure that he has some post-NFL employment that he can enjoy as he is now creating a significant media persona as well.
