CBS Sports- Elliott

Arian Foster is coming off the injury season, and there isn’t a quarterback to take here, so why not land a runner to improve the offense?

Sports Illustrated- Elliott

Do the Colts pounce on Elliott? How about the Jets? Or maybe a wild card like the Dolphins, at No. 8? If not, and assuming the top three QBs are gone, Houston has to take a long look. Elliott can have a Todd Gurley-like impact on an offense as a rookie. He is a three-down back with great vision and an innate desire to initiate contact.

More from Houston Texans Draft

Draft Tek- Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor

Get used to seeing Ezekiel Elliott or Corey ‘CoCo’ Coleman projected to the Texans. I’m hoping I don’t run out of things to say before 28 April. WR isn’t widely viewed as a need, but after leading the league in dropped passes, the Texans need reinforcements. Houston is desperate for offensive firepower and CoCo is undeniably one of the most explosive playmakers available. Due to Baylor’s scheme, Coleman draws unfair comparisons to nearly every WR bust to ever play in a spread offense. Bottom line is, you can’t coach willpower, elite quickness, a 45″ vertical, and a 4.3 second 40. Those are God-given gifts that shine brightly on film and will be on full display at the NFL Combine. Art Briles sums it up best: “He’s just a bad dude”. Undersized or not, Coleman gets the ball in the end zone. With CoCo crisping (sorry, had to) secondaries, Hopkins and Strong will have additional space to work with, giving Houston the best WR group since the Luv Ya’ Blue era.

Draft Site- Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State

Thomas looks poised to grab the spotlight at the Combine with the speed and size combo teams are looking for. Another target with DeAndre Hopkins would be a welcomed addition in Houston.
