Drew Dougherty of the Houston Texans website notes that the majority of mock drafts have the team selecting Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliot

It’s that time of year when NFL mock drafts will be flying around like crazy as we all brace ourselves for the most anticipated part of the offseason. It can be exciting to see what the experts expect your favorite team to do when its their turn to claim one of the stars coming out of the NCAA ranks.

For you Houston Texans fans, Drew Dougherty of the team’s official website has made it easy to see what the consensus is among the draft gurus. Drew has posted the Texans selection from several different mock draft outlets. This is the second time he has posted this collection of mock drafts, and it’s also the second time Ohio State running back, Ezekiel Elliott was the top person selected. Although this time Dougherty points out the percentage of times Elliott’s name showed up jumped from 33 percent to 50.

"In Mock 2.0, Elliott is again the favorite pick, and he’s been tabbed to the Texans by eight different experts. The Buckeye back clocked in with 50 percent of the vote this time."

The 6-foot 225 pound Buckeye is coming off back-to-back seasons with at least 1,800 yards. He also recorded 18 touchdowns as a sophomore and topped that with 23 as a junior.

Most of these mocks must assume that the Texans do in fact part ways with long-time star, Arian Foster and seek to replace him with the best running back in the draft. They most likely also assume that all the top selections at quarterback are gone before Houston is on the board with pick 22.
