Houston Texans: Five safety free agent options
By Randy Gurzi
Eric Berry, Kansas City Chiefs 27 years old
You would have to think the Kansas City Chiefs would do all they could to lock up free agent safety Eric Berry, their fifth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Berry has been a phenomenal player for the Chiefs as he has racked up 350 career tackles and 10 interceptions in his career. He is also someone most people root for after missing most of the 2014 due to his battle with cancer.
Not only did the Tennessee product return to play well with 61 tackles and two interceptions, but he also made the Pro Bowl in his first year back on the field.
If Kansas City is unable to keep Berry in town, he would be a hot commodity on the open market and Houston would be wise to do what they can to land him. Berry may have played free safety most his career, but a player of his talent is worth brining on and figuring out how to get him and Hal on the field together.
