17 observations from the final day of OTAs – by John Harris

"“Well, the final OTA session, the last of ten in total, took place on Friday and nearly completed the team’s off-season work prior to training camp. All that remains is a mandatory three day mini-camp next week and then the next time this group will be together will be at training camp, with the 2015 season right around the corner at that point.”"

Houston Texans hope Jadeveon Clowney will play Week 1 – by Tania Ganguli

"“He’s a young kid who’s already gone through a pretty traumatic injury and has to be smart, take care of himself and be out there when he’s ready, and he will be,” said Texans linebacker Brian Cushing, who had surgeries on the same knee during the fall of 2012 and the fall of 2013. “He’s done a really good job, and I’ve tried to just extend my knowledge as much as I can to him and let him know what he’s going through is normal right now. He’s going to have ups and downs throughout rehab coming back.”"

Healthier Cushing playing more confidently in Texans’ OTAs – by Terry McCormick

"“Injuries to his knees have taken their toll on the inside linebacker’s very availability and effectiveness. But as OTAs come to a close for the Texans this week and mini-camp approaches, Cushing’s health doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue. He is healthier and performing better than in the past couple of years.”"

Bill O’Brien: Houston Texans QB competition not decided at minicamp – by Tania Ganguli

"“I think that would be tough. I do,” O’Brien said. “I think the way that these guys compete, the way that they practice, and the way that both of them have attacked each day. I don’t see either guy right now going out there and just totally separating himself from the other guy.”"
