Team Needs

The Texans have addressed a couple of needs by grabbing a cornerback in round one with Kevin Johnson, and a linebacker in round two with Benardrick McKinney. Remaining needs that the Texans need to address include wide receiver, tight end, outside linebacker, safety and cornerback.

At quarterback such names as Bryce Petty from Baylor and Bret Hundley are still there to begin the third round, after no passers were taken in the third round.

At receiver Jaelen Strong from Arizona State is still available as is Tyler Lockett from Kansas State.

For tight end there is former Bill O’Brien player at Penn State Jesse James and Florida State’s Nick O’Leary.

Where Should They Go

If Jaelen Strong is still around come the time the Texans are on the clock, he seems to be a potential long term starter. Jesse James is another solid choice as he is not only familiar with O’Brien, but also fills a huge need.

However, if the team is not sold on Ryan Mallett or Brian Hoyer as the long-term answer, Bryce Petty or Brett Hundley could be great value picks in the third round.
