Round 5, 39th Pick: Chris Hackett, S

Chris Hackett is smaller in size than most teams would like their free safeties to be but the Texans should not hold that against him.

Even still, he is known in college for stepping up and providing insurance against the run and that’s something Houston is always interested in for their free safeties, take D.J. Swearinger for example.

Some see Hackett as a liability who struggles with covering over the top and getting to the outside edges in time, however many believe the upside potential outweighs the risks you’re going to take here, late in the fifth round of the draft. If the Texans are going to draft a safety, it needs to be here.
