Analysis: After trading a conditional seventh round pick for Mallett last year, the Texans only saw him in action for about a month before a season-ending pectoral injury sidelined him.

Still, it was probably enough to justify bringing him back to the team in 2015.

Mallett might not be the ultimate answer in Houston, but he could be the best fit out of this free agent group.
