South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney said with a smile on Wednesday, as quoted in an article by the Houston Chronicle, about the Houston Texans:
"“I don’t think they’re going to pass.”"
Why wouldn’t they?
The NFL Draft is about becoming a better team and building for the future, and for the Texans this is a no-brainer in my honest opinion.
I’m not against the Texans selecting Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel in this draft, just not at No. 1 overall, especially with the gift of Clowney sitting there.

Houston needs a second superstar and a player on defense who has the potential to become a Pro Bowler or even All-Pro, and Clowney is that guy.

I’ll keep harping on this until it isn’t true, but in the NFL, in today’s game, teams will win more Super Bowls with a better defense than offense.
Clowney brings that next step to the Texans that they lacked last season. Plus, if the Texans draft Clowney … how much better will that already make J.J. Watt?
Teams won’t be able to put their full focus on him, because a player with the potential to be just as good as Watt will be on the other side.
How does a team control that kid of pass rush?
If that smile is true about what Clowney feels, I believe he’ll be making a lot of Texans fans smile on Sunday’s in 2014, once the shock of the draft wears off.
