The top players to watch for Oregon State is junior wide receiver Brandon Cooks and red shirt defensive end Scott Crichton, as both are projected to be selected in the second or third rounds.

Lets take a closer look at Crichton, a 6-3, 265 pound DE. He’s the ninth ranked DE in the draft and 80th player overall.

Crichton has been timed with a 4.73 40-yard dash, and it says in his draft bio on CBS:

"“Although he failed to register a sack against Oregon, Crichton was a disruptive force for the Beavers. He showed a terrific first step to attack gaps and win with angles, using a combination of strength and quickness to defeat blockers off the snap. He was used all over the Oregon State defensive line and lined up both inside and outside, often rushing from a 2-technique position.”"

He seems like he can be a nice value in the third round as he did tally 16.5 tackles for loss this season.

Dane Brugler of NFLDraftScout.com says about Crichton:

"“Crichton has broad shoulders and lacks ideal flexibility, but his blend of nimble feet and powerful hands can be too much for blockers when he wins off the snap.”"

It will be interesting to see if the Texans become interested in his as the offseason arrives and the players prepare for the combine and workout days.
