Here are your daily Houston Texans stories for Thursday:

Clowney and Joseph Sidelined by Aaron Wilson, Houston Chronicle

"Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney didn’t practice Wednesday on the heels of missing his first game of the season with elbow and wrist injuries.Clowney worked on the side with other injured players. He hasn’t been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts and the Texans have some hope that he’ll be able to return for the game at Lucas Oil Stadium after being sidelined against the Green Bay Packers."

Clowney was certainly missed on Sunday. He may not be the threat in the pass rush that he is in the running game, but there is no doubt that had be been in the field the Texans could have gotten more pressure on Aaron Rodgers.

Cushing Nominated for Walter Payton Man of the Year by ABC Houston

"Houston Texans linebacker, Brian Cushing, has been nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. The NFL announced the 32 team representatives selected for the award and Cushing is eligible to win for the Texans."

Just to be nominated is a huge honor. But he will have to make it through another round of eliminations before there are just a few candidates remaining. He has done great work with local charities.

Strong hoping to continue good performances against Colts by Aaron Wilson, Houston Chronicle

"As a rookie, Strong caught two touchdown passes against the Colts at NRG Stadium for the first scores of his career in October of last year. He then had a key touchdown catch on a bootleg pass from quarterback Brandon Weeden in a pivotal December win that propelled the Texans to a division title."

Strong has been out of the lineup a lot recently, but hopefully he will be able to get back into the lineup and have another good game against the AFC South rivals.
