Here are your daily Texans stories for Thursday, before the Texans take on the Patriots:

First Glance: Texans at Patriots by Drew Dougherty, Houstontexans.com

"The Texans (2-0) face the Patriots (2-0) on Thursday Night Football at Gillette Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:25 p.m. CT. Here are five things to watch when Houston looks for it’s third victory of 2016.1. Harass Brissett- All signs are pointing to rookie Jacoby Brissett getting his first NFL start on Thursday against the Texans. The Patriots quarterback came on in relief of the injured Jimmy Garoppolo, who started the first two games of 2016 in place of 4-time Super Bowl champion signal-caller Tom Brady. Despite his inexperience, the Texans said they’re impressed with what they’ve seen from Brissett."

Of course they are going to say that they are impressed by Brissett. I don’t buy it. However, there is no doubt Bill Belichick will have him ready to play, and give him roles that he can fulfill. There is nobody out there better at getting guys ready to play than Belichick and company.

How the Texans became Explosive on Offense by Will Brinson, CBS Sports

"But this team is poised to become a more explosive unit, in large part to the pieces it added in the offseason. Two of those pieces — Lamar Miller and Will Fuller — are serious breakaway-speed threats, capable of hitting home runs."

Those are both valid points, and moreover the deep throws are increasing. Last year the Texans were a very vanilla offense that did not have any playmakers other than DeAndre Hopkins. But now with more playmakers, not excluding Brock Osweiler, the Texans offense has taken off.
