The Houston Texans may have to turn to free agency again for their QB issues, here are six players slated to become free agents they could consider

After watching their 2015 season end with five turnovers out of quarterback Brian Hoyer, the Houston Texans may have no choice now but to admit that Hoyer is simply better served as a backup who can succeed in small doses. Pinning your hopes for a championship run on the back of the journeyman quarterback could continue to bring the same results that 2015 did.

The problem however is, good quarterbacks simply don’t grow on trees. Add the Texans draft position, 22nd overall, and it becomes even harder to fix the position. Taking their first player later in the first round means guys such as Cal’s Jared Goff, Memphis’ Paxton Lynch and possibly even Carson Wentz of North Dakota State could all be gone.

That leaves the Texans with two options, the first being trying to mortgage the future to move up as much as possible to get one of these guys (provided they feel that strongly about one). The second option is one that is all too familiar with fans, they can bring in a veteran they feel head coach Bill O’Brien can mold into a serviceable starter.

Here is a look at six such players who could have some appeal to the Texans.
