In an article on NFL.com, it quotes Houston Texans owner Bob McNair as saying South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is the “best player in the draft.”

McNair is quoted as saying from an interview on KRIV-TV in the NFL.com article:

"“You take a guy like Jadeveon Clowney. He’s obviously the best player in the draft, but he’s a defensive end. He’s not a quarterback. If he’s a quarterback and the best player it’s easy, but that’s not the case.”"

Will the Texans just say who they are picking already? I know that will never happen, but that is just how I feel at this point.

As I’ve said before, if I have to narrow down the No. 1 overall pick down to two players it is Clowney or Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.

He’s obviously the best player in the draft

I can’t say with 100-percent certainly those are the final two, or which one of those two players the Texans would select, and I’ve been trying to figure this out since the Texans secured the No. 1 overall selection, and those are my final two.

Maybe the Texans will select the best player in this draft (Clowney) or maybe they go after the player they want the most, which could be Clowney, Manziel, or even Khalil Mack or Blake Bortles.

More from Houston Texans Draft

I will credit the Texans, they haven’t let any of us in on who they exactly are taking. They’ve hinted, but they haven’t exactly given us a clear path to who they are selecting No. 1 overall.

Now if it were only 8 p.m. on Thursday.
