Looking back at the Johnny Manziel Pro Day from last week, yet again, he might have had one of the more impressive workouts in recent memory, because there were some folks who now say Manziel is the best QB in this draft.

One of those folks being NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock, as he said the following late last week, as quoted by the Ultimate Texans blog on from the Houston Chronicle:

"“I think the kid loves competition … I think the kid lights up like a Christmas tree when all these GMs (are here). Do you want a guy that lights up or a guy that shrinks? And in the NFL … I think he’s that kind of guy.”"

I don’t completely agree with Manziel being the best QB in the draft, but he was there in person and studies NFL QBs more than I do, so there is that. Plus the throws Manziel made were nice, but, again, against no defense.

I just can’t get excited over any QBs pro day performance, whether it be Manziel, Blake Bortles or Teddy Bridgewater, because lets face it … it is their pro day for a reason. That reason is make sure they look the best (without defenders chasing them or offensive linemen sating in their way).

Manziel could become the next star in the NFL and I will look completely wrong, and I hope he does because the NFL can always use stars. All I’m saying is I don’t believe he’ll be the No. 1 overall pick by the Houston Texans.
