The Houston Texans received devastating news today, as second-year wide receiver Jayden Higgins has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the entirety of the 2026 seaoson.

This news comes after Higgins went down hard yesterday in camp and almost had to be carted off of the field. He was able to walk himself to the blue medical tent under his own power, but no immediate word was given on his status. Even in post-practice statements, both head coach DeMeoco Ryans and quarterback C.J. Stroud aimed to be careful about projecting too much of what they might believe about the status of Higgins.

It's a terrible development for Higgins and the team, as the former Iowa State player seemed poised for a breakout year after shining all throughout training camp. It's made all the more problematic when one considers the ailments that have suddenly plagued the rest of the receiving corps (Jaylin Noel's hamstring, Tank Dell's recovery, etc.)

More news on Higgins coming soon.
