Jonathan Greenard

Another defensive end to keep an eye on in the first preseason game for the Houston Texans is Jonathan Greenard. This past season was supposed to be the breakout year for the former third-round pick after he registered eight sacks in 2021.

Unfortunately, injuries derailed Greenard's season as he was only able to play in eight games and started four this past season. This summer has been a different story as Jonathan Greenard looks to be healthy and ready for that breakout season, which is perfect timing as he is entering a contract year.

This season might be a little easier for Greenard as the focus should shift some to Will Anderson Jr. and this sets him up for more one-on-one matchups. If Jonathan Greenard looks like the pass rusher from 2021, the Texans are going to make it tough on opposing quarterbacks this season.
