Could the Texans Make a Trade for Denzel Mims?
By Evan Mead
The Houston Texans need some help at the wide receiver position and there is one guy in particular they should target.
The Houston Texans receiving corps this year is awfully weak. You take a look at the options that Davis Mills will have, and it makes you question what kind of year he could have. Now, am I saying that because Mills is a bad quarterback? No. That’s not at all what I’m saying. What I am saying is that when you look around the league to the best offenses in the game, how many of them compare with our current offense? Not many.
Looking at the Cincinnati Bengals roster, they were arguably the best offense this past season, but they had the weapons to make it happen. Between a run game that had Joe Mixon and a passing game that had Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, there isn’t a lot that could go wrong. Same thing goes for a team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have two top 20 receivers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and for a majority of the season, they also had Antonio Brown. And in the run game, they had Leonard Fournette who dominated on the ground last season.
Now we look at the Texans roster, and although there is hope for them, they aren’t there yet. They don’t have the same talent that teams that compete do. But more than that, they don’t have the depth. That’s why I’m here today.
The Texans may not have the depth to make their roster one to be feared, but they could look to use their draft capital to improve their team.
