Texans 3-Round Mock Draft: Texans nab superstar in Second Round
With the 68th pick in the NFL Draft the Houston Texans select Carson Strong.
Strong had an excellent season with the Wolfpack last season as he threw for 4,175 yards with 36 touchdown and eight interceptions. As we head into the third round, I think this is where you draft the best player available.
Strong will be coming into camp with a chip on his shoulder coming from a smaller school such as Nevada to compete with Mills. He exhibits great arm strength and good leadership skills. He’s a great quality backup and a good developmental piece.
With the 80th pick in the NFL draft, the Texans select Troy Anderson out of Montana State.
This guy is probably the most slept-on athlete in this draft. This man has played virtually every position for the Bobcats. His freshman and sophomore year he played quarterback and running back. He rushed for 1,412 yards and passed for 1,915 yards. This season, he was a beast at linebacker as he nabbed two picks, three sacks, and 150 tackles.
He’s a great sideline to sideline tackler and a great downhill tackler. He has some electric speed as he ran 4.42 40. He’s arguably the most athletic player to enter the draft. He would bring good leadership and run stopper as he reads gaps well and identifies the ball carrier quick and efficiently.
