There may not be a better fit in the draft than Dotson to Houston.

Jahan Dotson (Penn State)

If Penn State’s Jahan Dotson is available at Houston’s second-round pick, they would be foolish not to make the call. After a 91-catch, 1,100-plus yard, 12-touchdown season earned him third-team All-American honors, Dotson is ready to take the NFL by storm. His size concerns (5’11” and 184 pounds) are easily negated by his dominance in the slot, along with having maybe the best hands in the entire draft.

Oh yeah, the fit with the Texans is almost too good. Dotson would be the team’s slot receiver from day one, along with getting to learn from Brandin Cooks (there’s no positional issues, Cooks actually doesn’t play a ton of slot).

Now, size would be lacking some for Dotson. However, the Texans could hope second-year receiver Nico Collins (6’4″) makes a leap to fill out the team’s receiving core. Other than that, Dotson would be a perfect solution.

ESPN also gives the Penn State receiver about a 35-percent chance of being available at the 37th overall pick. Those aren’t great odds, but definitely possible. If he’s on the board, Houston, you know what to do.
