The NFL’s “Jekyll and Hyde” quarterback, Kirk Cousins, is almost completely random when it comes to his game. Vikings fans can’t truly relax when Cousins goes back to pass because sometimes he makes boneheaded decisions or threads the needle to Justin Jefferson or Adam Thielen.
Minnesota’s free-agent moves were more trenches-based, so Cousins isn’t really getting more weapons. But having a better line ahead of you will always help. Minnesota had their playoff chances, but Cousins missed a crucial game against Green Bay when he tested positive for COVID the Friday before the game.
Maybe Kevin O’Connel can corral Cousins better than Mike Zimmer ever did.
