18th in the 2022 NFL Quarterbacks power rankings:

QB. 18. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oklahoma. JalenHurts. player. 54

Another quarterback that gets a lot of dislike from a majority of football fans is Jalen Hurts, who takes our 18th spot. In his first proper season as the Eagles starting quarterback, Hurts threw for over 3,000 yards and 16 touchdowns to just nine interceptions.

Hurts also ran for 784 yards and ten touchdowns, establishing himself as a dual-threat quarterback. Hurts dealt with a midseason trade that saw Zach Ertz leave for Arizona, leaving him with Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert to do the work.

Smith and Goedert did okay, but another weapon is needed for Smith to bloom into his full potential. The Eagles had three first-round picks but decided to make that confusing trade with the Saints that saw them give up one of their first-rounders.

I don’t care what the offer is; when you have three picks that high, you shouldn’t be giving them up. If Philadelphia wants to find out if the Hurts is the guy, trading those picks away and not building around him now is setting him up to fail in a way.

But the Eagles are the Eagles, and Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni will do what they think is best.
