The Houston Texans need a shutdown corner like J.C. Jackson

It’s the annual “New England is going to release a star player and not care” about time of year, and this time it’s J.C. Jackson who is getting that treatment in 2022. Jackson could hit the free-agent market and demand big money with no contract talks or tag possibilities in sight.

Jackson has 22 interceptions over the last three seasons, six more than Miami’s Xavien Howard. That’s the most in the league in that span, and it would take some work with the cap space, but it wouldn’t be a move the Houston Texans would regret.

As for the wide receivers, another Chicago Bear comes to mind. In recent history, Allen Robinson has been on the wrong side of some of the worst quarterbacks to play for. He could certainly use an offensive coordinator and head coach who knows what the heck they’re doing on the field (and not working on collaboration).

Allen would thrive with Mills’ cannon and deep passing skills. So why not offer what you can and see if Robinson takes the contract?
