One graphic shows how close the Houston Texans quarterback is to Tua Tagovailoa.

Hey, this is you. You’re probably wondering how you got here. The Houston Texans drafted Davis Mills in the third round of the 2021 draft with their first pick due to the Laremy Tunsil trade. Tua Tagovailoa was a first-round pick in 2020 and has come under fire for some reason with the entire Brian Flores situation that unfolded.

A Tweet surfaced from CBS Sports comparing the two quarterbacks in a multitude of categories and found that they performed eerily similar to each other. What’s even more interesting is that both quarterbacks had losing streaks of at least seven games (Houston had an eight-game streak).

Both played behind horrendous offensive lines, and their seasons were filled with a lot of bad outings. But when these two take the field next season, who will be better?

Houston Texans can give more weapons for Davis Mills to win this discussion

Tagovailoa has Jaylen Waddle and Mike Gesicki. Mills has Brandin Cooks. There is a disadvantage of weapons there, but Houston could add another top target like Chris Godwin, or even a second-round wide receiver would be a great way to help Mills.

Mills has the ability to beat out Tagovailoa with more help. Between the two, Mills is the better deep passer. On the other hand, Tagovailoa’s play helped them win eight out of their last nine games.

We’ll come back to this at the end of the 2022 NFL season and compare the numbers once again. They probably won’t match up this close again, but both teams could push for a wildcard spot under new head coaches if everything goes right.

Next. J.C. Jackson should be a high-priority free agent for Houston. dark
