What is the Reality that Jack Easterby lives in?

One person who seems to be caught in the middle of almost every bad situation is Jack Easterby. But what is the real story, and what is reality versus the media-driven perception of the fans? How much do fans know to be facts versus what they think they know??

Every NFL writer could do dozens of articles about Bill O’Brien and how he left the Texans organization in a mess. There is no denying this. O’Brien made bad trades, bad acquisitions and didn’t let his coordinators (especially Tim Kelly) do their jobs.

O’Brien was given far too much power, which he abused and ran an NFL team into the ground. Now, what the media has said, with very few facts to support their claims, Easterby should get as much blame as O’Brien. But, should he really, or did O’Brien use him as a scapegoat for his own terrible decisions. Unfortunately, we will most likely never know.

The Houston Texans have a “Jack” of no trades.

Here’s something indisputable. Easterby worked with Caserio and never got in the amount that it cost New England a ring. Is he a great front office guy? Maybe, maybe not. There hasn’t been anything done to prove one way or the other.

When Caserio was asked about Easterby, he said that he would not be making any decisions that would affect what happens on the field. So why are so many people down on him?

Maybe people are down on Easterby because McNair brought in a character guy, gave him a silly title that appeared to be football-related. Perhaps it’s because O’Brien used Easterby as a scapegoat, and the fans are so angry they can’t see that. But as Sergeant Joe Friday would say on Dragnet, “Just the facts, ma’am, just the facts.”

Do we have any actual facts to support the hatred for Easterby in his time with the Houston Texans? I’d love to see some. So, is Easterby responsible for the mess, or simply O’Brien’s scapegoat and catches the wrath of the fans for no good reason??

It’s up to you to decide.
