THE UGLY: The Penalty Woes Continue

The victory against the Chargers was a step in the right direction for the franchise. However, it is the second consecutive week that the Texans have committed nine penalties or more.

This past week Houston was flagged for ten penalties against for a total of 70 yards. That is indeed what some would call “playing with fire.” This team comprises a mix of veterans on short contracts, drafted rookies, and recently signed young prospects. The inability to slow the penalties down is a tough pill to swallow for the Texans.

Suppose the future of the Texans has any chance of competing for division championships again. In that case, this coaching staff must get their personnel to buy into the fact that penalties will only hurt this team moving forward.
