COACHING STAFF (B)

One thing is clear with this coaching staff. They will always have their team ready to compete week in and week out. David Culley makes sure his team competes regardless of who is on the field.

Unfortunately for the Houston Texans coaching staff, injuries became an issue and the lack of depth throughout the lineup made it difficult for the Texans to produce consistent play on the field.

Defensive Coordinator, Lovie Smith has improved this defensive unit and it truly showed in this one. The Texans had a run defense that was dead last in the NFL last season, he designed a great game plan to slow down running backs, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt for the Browns.

Tim Kelly has revamped this offense. When Tyrod Taylor was on the field, the offense had tempo, consistency, and results. Kelly greatly adapted when Davis Mills came in to play after Taylor’s injury. He was able to spread the options out wide, and allow Mills to get comfortable in his debut.

Overall, the Houston Texans coaching staff did a good job in getting their team prepared to face a Browns team that has high expectations.

The execution on the field is what was the deciding factor in the contest, but let it be known that David Culley and company did a good job at allowing their players to earn a win in Week 2.
