The Houston Texans were busy on Wednesday as moves were made on their roster.

When it comes to the Houston Texans before their Week 2 road game on Sunday at the Cleveland Browns, there was some business to take care of on their roster as four moves were made, plus their Wednesday injury report included seven players who are injured or just aren’t part of practice.

Of course, listed every week on the injury report is Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson as a DNP (did not practice) due to “not injury related.” Also listed with an illness is defensive lineman Jonathan Greenard, but he was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice.

Defensive back Lonnie Johnson Jr. has a thigh injury and was limited in practice, as he is coming off missing Week 1 with the same injury. Others who were listed as DNP were tight end Pharaoh Brown (ankle/shoulder), defensive back Desmond King II (knee), linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (thigh) and wide receiver Andre Roberts (knee).

With Johnson, he missed last week against the Jaguars, but facing the Browns is a much tougher challenge. Johnson had 56 solo tackles in ’20 in his second season, so it would be very helpful for the Texans if he can play in Week 2 as he’s a talented player needed for the secondary success.

Below is the official injury report posted by the Houston Texans PR Department:

There weren’t any major signings on Wednesday, but the Texans did sign defensive lineman Jaleel Johnson as they had to place fellow defensive lineman Vincent Taylor on the reserve/injured list. The Houston Texans also signed defensive back Grayland Arnold to the practice squad and released defensive back Antonio Phillips.

Again, the Texans just had some business as usual on Wednesday, but keep a close eye on the injury report because the Texans really need Lonnie Johnson Jr. on the field against Cleveland because they have some really good receivers and running backs, and quarterback Baker Mayfield is coming off a solid performance in Week 1.
