1. There will be more optimism than expected for Houston Texans

While there are obviously things going on outside of anyone’s control with the Texans as of right now, the mood in the stadium was more upbeat than one would expect. It felt like the fanbase is ready to turn the page and move on.

Of course, there was chatter about Deshaun Watson, with the reports coming out earlier in the day about a trade of Watson to Miami could be coming sooner rather than later. There was more talk about Davis Mills at quarterback than talk about what’s going on with Watson.

Overall the crowd was more focused on the improvement on the defense while watching the young players such as Roy Lopez, Nico Collins, and Charlie Heck who played a solid game starting at right tackle against the Buccaneers.

Even when Davis Mills struggled, fans still found optimism in the plays that Mills did make while acknowledging his growth and need for improvement going forward.

Houston Texans fans understand that this year will most likely be a long season but most of the fans talked to are optimistic about the future with the Texans owning their first-round pick in this upcoming draft and the likelihood of draft capital from a Watson trade the fans seem to be looking toward the future in bright light.
