Jacksonville will be worse than the Houston Texans again in 2021
The Jaguars enter their regular season with Urban Meyer but without Travis Etienne. How will that affect the workload James Robinson gets with Trevor Lawrence’s college teammate out for the year? Lawrence was battered in their second game on the road against the New Orleans Saints, and his first outing was okay as well.
All rookies go through growing pains, and it may just be more of that for Jacksonville as they try to improve on an abysmal 1-15 season. The stunning trade of LB Joe Schobert to Pittsburgh left many scratching their heads, and it now forms a hole where a reliable player once stood.
So if the Jaguars want to improve this year, getting the ball into Lawrence’s hands is a must-do each game. His tenure at Clemson was legendary, and the league will get to see if he can transform Jacksonville like he did Clemson. The defense is led by Josh Allen (not the Bills version) and Shaquill Griffin.
Jacksonville tried to beef up their pass rush with a series of moves, but it looks like Allen will be a one-man show while rushing the passer. As for their 2021 record, this team can win a few more games, but a miserable 3-14 is the predicted finish for the Jaguars.
