Houston Texans could look to UNC or even Liberty for a QB during the ’22 NFL Draft

A second quarterback to watch is Sam Howell from the University of North Carolina. Howell has everything you want in a quarterback as far as the eye test is considered. Although the mobility factor is what sets Rattler and Howell apart, Howell is not a pocket quarterback.

A concern with Howell is the competition he faces as there could be questions about if he is really that good, or is everyone else subpar?

The same can be said for the last guy on this list, which is Malik Willis from Liberty. When watching him he screams Lamar Jackson on tape.

That is good and bad as Willis’ running potential will keep the defense honest, and his passing is good enough with the chance to improve over time. The only problem is that it is easily schemed like the Baltimore Ravens found out last year.

Willis is 22-years old which isn’t a problem if he becomes the placeholder at quarterback for the Houston Texans the next decade, but it could be an issue because he’ll have less time to figure things out as Spencer Rattler and Howell are both 20 years old.
