The Houston Texans find themselves undefeated and staring down the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their final pre-season game.

After a solid 2-0 start to the preseason, the Texans will take on the Buccaneers with a chance to defend their home turf. If this team does go undefeated, it may just give a lot of Houston Texans fans some hope.

This game will have the starters for the Buccaneers playing the first half. When you’re facing the defending champs, any experience is a good experience for all involved for Saturday’s game. There is going to be a lot to take home on this one.

This Texans-Buccaneers clash brings three things for Texans fans to watch for. They include evaluating the depth of the backup quarterbacks, how the rushing attack can rebound after a terrible showing against the Dallas Cowboys, and more about the defensive line’s fantastic start.

Starters are unlikely to play in the final preseason game, a tradition that is saved for the players trying to make the 53-man roster. With the 53-man roster cut down, the depth chart spots that are open at this time are going to withstand incredible competition. How will Ray Lopez continue to state his case for a roster spot? Can Davis Mills develop into the Texans starting quarterback down the road? There’s one more week to answer those questions before the real deal begins.

These young player’s dreams are on the line, and that’s worth remembering as General Manager Nick Caserio gets ready to make some tough decisions alongside first-year Head Coach David Culley.  To start things off, Davis Mills will need to capitalize on what hopefully is his final start (or significant playing time) of the season.
