Here are some highlights from the Houston Texans win against the Green Bay Packers are below:
The Houston Texans went north to Lambeau Field for the first time since 2019 in the preseason and came away with head coach David Culley’s first NFL victory.
This touchdown by Scottie Phillips basically was the turning point of the game, as the Packers would never have the lead again. This helped lead the Texans to 23 unanswered points, including four field goals from kicker Kai’imi Fairbairn.
Jaleel Johnson was a force tonight, forcing two fumbles that were critical to stopping the momentum that Packers quarterback Jordan Love just kept trying to create in the first half of the game.
Darius Jackson’s touchdown was the dagger in the game, an incredible stretch for the pylon with quarterback Jeff Driskel throwing a block that helped just enough. There also was a great punt return tonight that set up a field goal, and that Desmond King II punt return can be seen here.
To finally end the Packers final drive, Tre Smith picked off Kurt Benkert with less than four minutes in the fourth quarter. If the team can perform this well against some starters in the weeks to come, then some excitement will be on deck for the season.
It’s a tremendous first step and let’s see if that second step can really get this team going.
