Round 5, Pick 133: Jack Anderson, IOL, Texas Tech

With two young tackles, a young guard, and a center who is not old by any means, the Texans might finally have the makings of a young core up front. However, with Zack Fulton nearing 30 years of age and with an out in his contract, the Texans may look to move on from his deal as they look to get back under the salary cap.

With the fifth round kicking in here in this mock draft, the Texans look to replace Fulton with another young and talented interior offensive lineman. They do so here in the form of Texas Tech’s offensive guard Jack Anderson. One of the more underrated players in the country, Anderson is big and mobile, giving him the ability to climb to the second level and towards the boundary well.

Just a few years removed from one of the worst offensive lines in football, Laremy Tunsil, Tytus Howard, Max Scharping, Nick Martin, and now Anderson makes for a much more secure front. Anderson is another name that will be at the Senior Bowl, looking to give himself a boost up draft boards before the 2021 NFL Draft.

Value has been the name of the game for the Texans thus far as they look to capitalize on limited assets.
