Here is how to watch to the Houston Texans in Week 11 vs. the Patriots.

Usually the game between the Houston Texans and the New England Patriots has a lot more excitement around it, but that is not the case entering this Week 11 matchup. The Texans enter the AFC contest at 2-7 overall, and are coming off a loss to the Cleveland Browns last Sunday.

The Patriots earned a big in last Sunday night by defeating the Baltimore Ravens, and are nearing the .500 mark at 4-5 overall this season.

The days of Deshaun Watson vs. Tom Brady are over within what seems like an annual matchup. The days of this being Bill O’Brien vs. Bill Belichick are gone as well, and at least for this season this game doesn’t mean anything for playoff positioning for the Texans.

New England leads the history of this matchup with a 10-2 record when facing the Texans, but remember the meeting between the two team last year? That was the game where Deshaun Watson and his Houston Texans teammates took care of business and defeated the Patriots, 28-22.

That game was thought to take the Texans franchise to the next level, and it did in 2019, but in 2020 the wheels have fallen off and the wagon has fell apart leading to a lot of changes this season and moving forward.

In the Week 11 game this Sunday between the Texans ans Patriots we won’t be seeing O’Brien coaching against his mentor, and we will won’t see Tom Brady throwing passes against the Houston defense. DeAndre Hopkins isn’t apart of this game either in 2020, and the Texans are not in any playoff picture, but there is still aspects of this game worth caring about.

This game will still feature Watson and it will now have Cam Newton being the starting quarterback for the Patriots. Also, New England is far from a playoff lock with a 4-5 record as they trail the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East standings, so they need to win this game badly to keep pace with the Bills and Dolphins.

This is a strange matchup to say the least in 2020, but the goal is still the same for both teams and that is to gain the victory, which is what makes football great in the first place.

Though this might not be the spotlight game it once was, Watson vs. Newton still should be a nice battle, and it will also be fun to see how Houston Texans interim head coach Romeo Crennel and Belichick try to get things past each other, as Crennel once coached with Belichick, as they were Super Bowl champions together in New England.
