3. No Houston Texans receiver will catch for 100 yards
This is a tough one to have for the Houston Texans, but it could be true on Thursday night because of one of two reasons. The first reason is the offense struggles to be on the same page, as this is their first game action together as a unit.
Remember, with no preseason games, none of the teams in the league have really had a chance to see what they have, but the Texans have new wide receivers and a new starting running back, so it will be an interesting start for sure. Also on the offense, Tytus Howard (right tackle) missed half the season last year with an injury, so he’s got to get used to in-game action as well.
As for the Texans wide receivers, another reason for no 100-yard players is the ball will be spread around to not only the wide receivers of Will Fuller, Kenny Stills, Randall Cobb, and Brandin Cooks, but the running backs of David Johnson and Duke Johnson are solid receiving backs, plus there are the tight ends who will get their share of targets as well.
Again, this offense is a bit of a mystery right now, and”testing” it out against the Chiefs in Week 1 isn’t the best time to see what the offense is made of.
