Fantasy Football: David Johnson can have surprising season for Houston Texans
1. Fantasy Football 2020: David Johnson will get full opportunity once again
Last season with the Cardinals, David Johnson basically had his season taken away in the second half of the 2019 season when they benched him for Kenyon Drake. This upcoming season with the Houston Texans, he should get a full plate of game time with the Texans. He’ll most likely share some snaps with Duke Johnson, but when it comes to carrying the football behind such linemen as Laremy Tunsil, Tytus Howard and others, well, David Johnson is in store for an excellent season.
Looking back two seasons ago in 16 games with the Cardinals, Johnson had 258 carries for 940 yards but averaged just 3.6 yards per carry. That season, Johnson’s best rush went for 53 yards, and he had seven rushing scores.
Another plus for Johnson is in the past three seasons combined, he had just three fumbles, including none last season. Though the Texans’ offensive line isn’t known as a powerhouse, the Texans are able to run block, as last season the unit blocked for Carlos Hyde and his 1,000-yard season.
Last season was a great improvement over previous seasons for the offensive line, and if Johnson can be a quality player and that line adds to their progression, then as said before, good things are in store for both the Texans and David Johnson for the 2020 season.
